Holly Gewandter’s credits as lyricist/composer include the Emmy Award-winning Bubbe Meises/Bubbe Stories (Cherry Lane Theater and PBS), Gewandter/Songs (Public Theater),  Titbits and Snow WhiteUnadorned (both at WOW), Louis the Fish (Vineyard Theatre), and Cinderella: The Real True Story (WOW and The Drill Hall in London). Holly’s songs have been performed at many NYC clubs and venues (Joe’s Pub, the Museum of Modern Art, the Bitter End, Cornelia Street Café) and on television (PBS and EPIX’s Get Shorty).


Current projects include Squirrel Heart (written with and performed by Sarah Stiles at Joe’s Pub@The Public), The Real True Story (of Cinderella), an immersive musical currently in development, and Ukulele Social, a new musical theater piece.

A graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Holly was a member of the Lehman Engel BMI Musical Theater Workshop. She was awarded a fellowship to study electronic music at the Berklee school of Music, where she was the recipient of the Zawinul Jazz Masters Award, has been a contributing author on several books on music technology, and has taught as a guest lecturer at New York University. Holly is a member of ASCAP, the Society of Composers and Lyricists, and the Dramatists Guild.
